Nearly a month since my last post and we are finally (sort-of) settled into our temporary new home in San Francisco. Last Thursday, our dog, FitBoy and I crammed into our crammed-full-of-boxes car and headed north. First was a stop to drop-off the dog, in hopes that she would get along with a friend's dog who'd offered to watch her while we got settled. All good there; I left with the two dogs running up and down, up and down the backyard hill.
The baby screamed all the way into the city, which was foggy and teeming with Giants fans. Game night. It literally took my breath away for a moment. I'd lived here before, worked just a few blocks away, but in a totally different life, one that seemed a million years ago.
Then we were reunited with FitDad, and things settled into place. Life is still a bit noisier, dirtier, and artificially brighter than before, but we are where we belong.
Here we are, having found a few places we'd be happy to live more permanently, walking miles and miles each day to the Ferry Building, the ball park, and to restaurants.
The baby is sleeping. I'm finally reading email and unpacking a bit.
If anyone's still reading this blog, thanks for your patience. I'll continue to post a few times each week to chronicle this country mouse trying to stay feasibly fit in the city...
