Summertime is surely upon us and last week was a great week for eats! Not only did we have a delicious meal out with grown-ups(!), but we followed our plan and tried a new recipe. No farmers market this week, but I made it to the farm stand twice to make up for it. We've started FitBoy on some solids, so our Friday trip to the stand was for carrots, zucchini and green beans to cook-up for him.
Also of note was Jenna from Chive Talkin's gazpacho. Rather than a mushy V8 mess (which I feared), this summer soup had fresh flavor, great texture and the perfect balance of ingredients. I can't wait to make it again.
I'm feeling much better, having kicked this summer cold, and look forward to a great week. On our walk today, a kind woman handed my friend and me a huge bag of plums from her messy and prolific plum tree. Jackpot! Despite the heat, I couldn't resist popping a plum cobbler into the oven tonight. I probably should have just sliced the ripe plums and set them atop some lemon sorbet.
Anyhow, here's what we're having:

- Portabella quesadillas with scallions (via kirwin @Graceful Creative)
- Spinach soup and bean salad
- Tomato, avocado and cheese salad (via Danica's Daily - guest post by kirwin @Graceful Creative)
