Today FitBoy and I went to the chiropractor where, as I tell FitBoy, we go to stay healthy and strong. As the chiropractor reminded me, it's not only good to stay balanced in the muscles we exercise, but also practice balance each day. So keeping that in mind, here is my workout.
I was able to hit the treadmill and resistance bands in the garage while Grandma and FitBoy read and snuggled. Thank goodness for grandmas.
All exercises off treadmill are with resistance bands or ankle bands. I just let the treadmill run as I hopped (safely!) on and off. Total workout time = 30 minutes.
1 minute warm-up
3 minutes jog
- Off treadmill: 45 seconds of squats.
- 3 minutes jog
- Off treadmill: 45 seconds of rows.
- 3 minutes jog
- Off treadmill: 45 seconds of biceps curls.
- 3 minutes jog
- Off treadmill: 45 seconds of hamstring curls (ankle bands)
- 3 minutes jog
- On a BOSU
, flat side up, balance for 30 seconds.
- Do 10 squats.
- Balance with eyes closed for 30 seconds. (Stand next to something or someone you can lean on if you lose your balance).
- 10 wall angels.
Sigh, and know that life is good.
