I'm still a little sore from Saturday's yoga class, so today is a great day for a straight-up cardio workout. I went to Stroller Strides today this morning, too, so I don't want to overdo the resistance training. We also did some intervals there and I was able to sprint and jog, just like I used to do, way back when.
I'm already planning and looking forward to a big, tough upper body pyramid workout tomorrow.
Nothing too fancy, but I'm definitely working up to running more. Tonight's workout:
Warm-up 2 minutes on treadmill.
Run 4 minutes
Walk briskly 2 minutes
Repeat.
My plan was to go for 20 minutes, since I'd run a bit earlier and also walked the dog with FitBoy in the Moby. However, at 16 minutes, FitDad brought the baby out and boy, was he screaming. Hungry. Definitely hungry.
Top priority in this house: meet the needs of the boy. He's hungry, I'm sweaty. I do a 2 minute cool-down and come back to reality.
And you know what? It felt really good. This evening I fit it all in. Because I had realistic expectations and zero resentment, I got my exercise and was the mom I wanted to be.
