Although today was a great day with my son, by the time my husband got home from work (after his run), I really didn't feel like exercising. Know the feeling? So I asked FitDad for some inspiration and he suggested the following treadmill workout. Total workout time = 30 minutes.
- 2 1/2 minutes warm-up
- 2 1/2 minutes @ very brisk walk and moderate incline
- 2 1/2 minutes @ brisk walk/strides and steep incline
- Repeat 3x total + 2 1/2 minutes @ very brisk walk and moderate incline = 20 minutes
- 2 minute cool-down (My heart rate was very high after the intensity of the workout, so I needed a cool-down tonight.)
Resistance band exercises to muscle failure (As in, I cannot possibly do one more. Even if you offered me extra hours of sleep.) One set each:
- Chest press
- Overhead triceps extensions
- Overhead shoulder press
Stretch.
